Makes for a really clean installation.
I bought the appropriate transformer & cables to mount outside under a 10' x 11' trellis. I used the channels to mount the strips to the wood. Looks great after installation. Only problem so far is that they're so bright that it seemed like daylight instead of "mood lighting" after dark. I ordered the dimmer (I'd recommend for ANY installation) and 5' cables to mount to the wall, & it worked perfectly (even though they're supposed to be weatherproof, I put them inside of a weatherproof box & PVC channel to protect from sun exposure. You can hardly tell that there's anything there until you turn them on. Very classy appearance. Here in Arizona it's really hot, and my prior standard rope lights & mounting channels deteriorated from the UV light exposure, so I really hope they stand up to the elements (since they are a little expensive).
