Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright Led Exit Sign I'm really happy with this exit sign. The lettering really "pops" and is easy to notice. We have not had a chance to see the power failure light illuminated, but the 2 emergency light attachments look very substantial.

Is there a snap on mounting bracket that mounts to a electrical box.

    Asked by: John 300
On this particular fixture, yes, there is a mounting bracket that fastens to the J box and snaps into the fixture, but only for ceiling mounting. For surface mounting, a blank back face plate with knock-outs is used. Please call Customer Service at 888.243.9445 if you have any more questions or need more clarification.

is this product to be hard wired or just mounted? and in case of an emergency when do the lights come on?

    Asked by: ziggy123
This fixture needs to be hard wired to either 120V or 277V. The emergency lights will go on as soon as power is cut and will run for 90+ minutes on the battery back-up. http://www.e-conolight.com/pdf/Instructions/E-XCL%20Series_1.pdf Please call Customer Service at 888.243.9445 if you need further assistance

The hook-up instructions say to connect the black wires together for 120v operation, and to connect the red wires for 277v connections. Pardon my ignorance but does that me only the black wires for 120v, and ONLY the red wires for 277v?

    Asked by: Edd C
The red 277V wire in the fixture would go to the "hot" as would the 120V black wire. The white common must still be wired for both voltages. Please contact customer service at 888.243.9445 if you still have any other questions regarding this.
